HIGHBALL IN REVIEW
HighBall is definitely one of the highlights of the Halloween season for me. HighBall is a fundraiser for the organization that I work for, so once again, I got to spend most of this year talking about costumes, fashion, music and more.
Costumes and Halloween have always been a part of my life. Born in October to a costume-obsessed family, my birthday parties always had a dress-up theme. The holidays with the extended family were often filled with hand-crafted garments appropriate for the season. (Can you say Renaissance Fair?) Even my college parties had a dress code. It's just fun to become someone else for the night.
This year, I took the helm on social media and marketing strategy, graphic design, and frankly, anything else that needed extra help. HighBall is an all-hands-on-deck kinda event. Here's a few of my favorite moments.
And then there was this moment where I got on stage with Who's Bad?, the Michael Jackson tribute band that played on Friday night.
I never got a great photo of my fiance and I in costume on Saturday at HighBall, but here's one of us from another Halloween event. I dressed as Maleficent, complete with horns I made from Sculpey clay, a fun party dress and black wings. Jon made a really cool devil mask that he found here.
