WELLNESS IN THE TIME OF MADNESS
I've been a little absent from this space. Honestly, it comes from a place of uncertainty. Every time I try to catch the wind in my blogging sails, there's something in the media that is upsetting and distracting, and there's never a good time to write about yoga, self-care and wellness. It felt strange not to address it.
A yogi's life is guided by an ethical code, the Yamas and Niyamas, which means things overlap. I don't want to be tone deaf to what's happening in the U.S. and the world at large. However, Blonde Darling has never been about current events and the political climate, and the darkness we all are responsible for fighting against. I'm not qualified for investigative journalism, and the work it takes to unearth those truths. If you mind your sources, there are plenty of places you can go for that.
To be honest, I want this space to be about the light in the world no matter what's happening around us. I need it, and we all need more of it. We're complex beings, and yoga is just one part of the whole story. For many, it's one of the best parts. It allows us to process our thoughts and feelings on our own time so that we can be better, more patient and loving humans (and rested, well-cared-for fighters).
So for now, I'll focus on that part here. I know there's much more to the story, but this is what I can offer. I hope you'll stay with me.
