Through the time I've been collecting up stories, this sentence stuck with me. I've held it close by on the mat, and I thought it'd be a great way this series, Yoga Stories. I've been hanging onto these stories for a while. I meant to do many more, but here we are. There's a sense I get about incompletion I still feel about the project. This practice isn't perfect, either. Rather than hiding them away for an audience of one, I hope you'll take something from them.
With kids and life to balance, Allison Scoville became a yogi by way of a home practice. It evolved over time from practicing with videos to pursuing her yoga teacher certification. She inspired me with her story of making things work, of creating (and not waiting for) the right moment to practice. She talked about the way pranayama supports her just as much as the asana.
I met her up at Highbanks Metro Park, and here's what happened.
