YOGA STORIES: TERESA EIGEL
Self-defined Type-A personality Teresa found yoga after college, encouraged to try it out by her parents. She's a healthy eater and runner, and thought that the practice would help her stretch from her workouts.
After her first beginner series class, she had caught on to how much it helped her unwind physically and mentally, and stuck with the practice. It's hard to define how or when it happened, but she attributes a shift to a sense of gratefulness and positivity to her practice — to slowing down and observing.
This part of the conversation was so surprising to me. Throughout knowing her, it's hard to imagine Teresa as anything other than a positive person, sharing light and grace in the world. Yoga can't change everything, but it'll to do wonders for your capacity for breath.
Teresa and I met in Harrison Park. Here's what happened.
