THIS IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF POST
I’m reclaiming the blog for writing as I like. If you couldn’t already tell, I haven’t been giving this space much attention in terms of posts. I’m done fitting posts into little neat containers with a structured marketing strategy.
If you don’t already know, that’s the background I come from, and I love that part of my life. I love helping others find a fit for their content that supports their overall business strategy. I love figuring out actionable ways for one to succeed out in the universe. However, what you can offer to the world is not always what you need yourself.
Let me repeat that, what you can offer to the world is not always what you need yourself.
Outwardly and on this blog, my creativity is being stifled by my need to make this the perfect example of the skills I’ve worked so hard to develop. Perfection is stopping progress. In my home, I make myself comfortable with messy creativity, but here on the webnets, I’ve always felt that I need to be clean and tidy, delivering expertly packaged content that I can point to and say “see, I know what I’m doing! I am a good little marketing creative.”
They say (who is they?), you’ve gotta learn the rules before breaking them. I’ve learned a few, but I’m ready to charge forward like a bull in a china shop, breaking the rules I know and probably some I don’t. In terms of the internet world at large, best practices change monthly, or weekly, it seems.
In other words, I’m ready to practice some radical vulnerability.
This is what I can promise:
I will post went I feel like it, and probably sometimes when I don’t.
Posts will be messy and vulnerable (I will continue to edit for grammar. I’m not a heathen. LOL.)
I will pair it with some original art or eye candy.
Maybe sparks will fly from a post here, or maybe they won’t. Maybe some posts won’t get read at all, or maybe they do. I might be shouting deep into the void of the internet, but at least it’s my void. Whether you read or don’t read is up to you. I’ll keep posting.
